We met as teenagers at a high school homecoming football game and spent the next several years dating on and off. We grew up, moved away, lost touch, reconnected, and then lost touch again—more than once.Years later, we found our way back to each other for good. This time, we were older, more settled, and clear about what we wanted. Our relationship grew naturally from there, grounded in shared values and faith. He had become Catholic two years earlier and shared his faith with me, which played an important role in our life together. During this time, I was in the process of becoming Catholic. Not long after, he proposed—and I was confirmed into the Catholic Church. After all the years and all the distance, it finally felt right—and it finally felt permanent. We’re excited to get married and grateful to celebrate this moment with the people who’ve loved us through every chapter.
